Privacy Policy

What our games keep, what the advertising and payment services they use collect, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Recursive Loop Studios ("we", "us") makes mobile games, including Catch Point for Android. This policy covers our games and this website. Questions about it go to hello@recursiveloopstudios.com.

2. The short version

  • You don't need an account to play, and we don't ask for your name, email or location.
  • We don't run servers that collect your data. Your progress and settings are saved on your phone.
  • The game shows ads through Google AdMob. Google collects some information from your device to show and measure ads - described below - and where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent first.
  • Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.

3. What stays on your phone

The game saves the following on your device only. It is not sent to us or to anyone else:

  • Progress and stats - levels opened, stars, best scores, catches and similar game numbers.
  • Settings - controls, sound, vibration, the skins you wear, which tips you've seen, and which purchases you own (so the game can work offline).
  • A play log - a technical record of games played (for example which levels, how throws went and how smoothly the game ran), with your phone's model and Android version and a random identifier made on your phone. We use it to study play on our own test phones; the game never sends it anywhere.

Uninstalling the game deletes all of this. Settings → Reset Progress clears your progress and stats.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Catch Point is free and shows ads: an ad between some levels, and - only if you choose to watch one - an ad that gives you a second chance in an endless run. The ads are provided by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect from your device:

InformationFor example
Device identifiersYour phone's advertising ID and similar identifiers.
Approximate locationDerived from your IP address.
App and ad interactionsWhen the app opens, which ads were shown, taps and views.
DiagnosticsInformation about how the ads code performs and crashes.

Google uses this as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. We don't receive your identifiers or ad history from Google; we see only overall reports, such as how many ads were shown.

The game is not directed at children, and its ads are not set up for children (see Children).

  • Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland - or wherever the law requires it - the game asks, using Google's consent form, whether ads may be personalised before any are shown. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not based on your interests.
  • Change your mind any time in the game: Settings → Privacy Options.
  • Your advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in your phone's settings (usually Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads).
  • Google's ad settings. See My Ad Center.
  • Fewer ads. The purchase No Ads + All Worlds removes the ads between levels. The second-chance ad is always your choice.

6. Purchases (Google Play)

Purchases in our games are made through Google Play's billing system. Google handles your payment and payment details under the Google Privacy Policy. The game receives only a confirmation of what was bought, so it can unlock it and restore it on another phone with the same Google account. We don't receive your card details, name or email from Google through the game.

7. Sharing your stats

If you tap Share on the stats card, the game makes a picture of your stats and hands it to the app you pick through Android's share menu. The game doesn't send it anywhere itself; what happens next is up to that app and its own privacy policy.

8. Children

Our games are made for players aged 13 and over and are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@recursiveloopstudios.com and we'll help.

9. Your rights and deleting data

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or privacy laws in some US states and other countries), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information.

  • Game data is on your phone only: uninstall the game, or use Reset Progress, to delete it. We hold no copy.
  • Advertising data is held by Google: use the choices in section 5 and Google's tools at your Google Account.
  • Purchase records are held by Google Play under your Google account.

For anything else, or if you'd like us to pass a request on, write to hello@recursiveloopstudios.com.
